More Friday.

As we were leaving Sue and David's drive yesterday evening we had a minor crunch to the offside sill of the car. A car bodywork restorer was recommended to us as a very good worker and not toooo painfully
expensive. He works out beyond Brent Eleigh, so we took the car out to him this afternoon. Stopped on the way to take photo of violets beside the road. They are rather later than usual this year, but seem to be growing strong and longer stemmed than usual. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just in our area. The photo doesn't really do them justice. They are a deep purple, rather than the pale mauve shown.

The violets do look stragglier than any I've ever seen! I Suppose they smell longer too!
How is your poorly motor?
Was David throwing rocks at it because you didn't eat enough of his puddens?

Sue and David's house is off a small lane, down a sunken drive with stone walls to either side. we know the drive sell, but on coming out in the dark we did manage to scrape the offside sill slightly. Nos Culpa.
And as to puddings, as always I ate what was set before me. I've never been much of a lad for leaving some for Mr. Manners. As Grandfather Trower used to impress on us the best compliment you can pay the cook is a clean plate. I must enter a caveat here, though. Brussels Sprouts. As far as I'm concerned Mr. Manners can have all mine he wants.

Love, Mike and Ann.

Jude has taken to buying sprouts lately - just so I use them up in bubble'n'squeak. Provided you smother them in tomato ketchup and put a peg on your nose you would hardly know you'd been hog-tied and force-fed!
