Wednesday.

Cottage garden at Lower Layham.

Got up early and went to early service at St. Mary's. Later we both sang in the choir at a funeral also in St. Mary's. The name of the lady whose funeral it was rang a vague bell, so Ann made discreet enquiries and I was then able to remember that I had worked with the lady for a short time forty five years ago. When we met up again about fifteen years ago (when we moved to this area) she reminded me of our former aquaintance. Haven't seen much of her since then, but isn't it odd how our paths cross and recross? These coincidences always make me think that if we could see just a little further below the surface (of life ?), we would be able to see a clearer pattern emerging perhaps. Bit too deep for a fairly simple bloke, I'm afraid. Not much given to such philosphical reflections.

Been busy in the workshop this afternoon. Finished a job off, and pleased with the result. Bedtime fast approaching, so Goodnight all.
