Looking good Mr H!
I haven't seen any greenfinches for some time. However, we are inundated with goldfinches this year!
It's a George IV (1826) pewter quarter pint (1 gill) spirit measure with a charming brass collared neck. The date and proof marks were applied when its accuracy was officially tested and approved. For those younger members of your readership I should perhaps add that one gill measures 142.065 millilitres in European fluid measure. (Er... I think.)Welcome back to bloggerdom Mike, we've been seriously deprived of quality viewing for too long.
All pleasing to the eye.
